A very random PlayStation game is coming to the PS4/PS5 on August 18th

Well, not the most random, but certainly it is coming out of leftfield. According to a PlayStation blog post made on August 12thDisney’s Atlantis: The Lost Empire (PS1) will be made available on PlayStation+. The blog description of the game says:

“Experience Disney’s Atlantis: The Lost Empire first released on the original PlayStation console, now enhanced with up-rendering, rewind, quick save, and custom video filters. Driven by the legend of Atlantis, join Milo Thatch as he leads a team of experts to unlock the secrets of The Lost Empire. Journey to uncharted depths, far below the ocean surface where hidden dangers swim, lurk and spy from every nook and cranny. What you encounter next will change things forever…”

This release is another PS+ Classics Catalog addition, available for both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, most of which can be bought a la carte on the PlayStation Store page, or as a part of the upper tiers of the PS+ catalog.

Now, I am certainly not one to complain about older games getting re-released on newer hardware, but normally they are something in demand, a game that has notoriously been stuck on an older console, or a true classic getting a fresh coat with quality-of-life features.
